Some of my favorite sessions aren’t planned around a couple at all – they’re planned around friendship. That was the case when three college best friends, two of them expecting, gathered at That PNW Cabin for a surprise maternity session.
Last December, Kim reached out to me about doing some surprise portraits with her two best friends, who were both expecting at the time, at That PNW Cabin in Index, WA. The three women have been friends since college and still make time for each other as their families have started to grow.
As is customary PNW weather, it was rainy during our session, but that didn’t stop us from making some beautiful photos and memories. If anything, the misty forest and soft gray light gave the whole session an even moodier, more intimate feel.
Capturing women in different stages of their lives is one of my favorite things about being a photographer. Whether it’s new photos to promote your business or getting dressed up for portraits that simply make you feel good, I’m here to capture all of it. My aim is to get to know you so we can create the most authentic photos possible, and I love adventuring with my clients to find the best spots along the way.
Are you ready to invest in yourself with some solo portraits, or with your best friends by your side? I’d love to chat.

Absolutely – some of my favorite sessions are with best friends or sisters sharing this season together, like this one with three college friends.
Pacific Northwest weather rarely stops us – a little rain often makes for the moodiest, most beautiful light.
It’s my a-frame cabin in Index, Washington, surrounded by forest and mountain views – a favorite backdrop for portraits and elopements alike.
