Christmas in the Pacific Northwest: Seattle, the Mountains & Portland
Some holidays are made for staying cozy at home — this one was made for the road, spent chasing snow-dusted mountains and city lights across the Pacific Northwest.
Washington Mountains
The trip started in Seattle before winding east into Eastern Washington and up into the mountains, where the landscape shifted from city streets to quiet, snow-covered peaks within just a few hours of driving. There’s something about that shift — pavement to powder — that makes a Pacific Northwest Christmas feel different from any other.
Portland
From the mountains, the trip carried on to Portland, Oregon, trading alpine views for the city’s own laid-back, holiday charm — a different kind of cozy.
What follows are some of my favorite frames from the trip — a little bit of city, a little bit of mountain, and all Pacific Northwest in December.
If a winter road trip through the Pacific Northwest, mountains and cities both, is on your travel list, I’d love to help capture it.
