La Push, WA has long been one of my favorite elopement locations, and Chris and Shannon’s ceremony timed it perfectly. Just as the sun set over the beach, with rugged sea stacks lining the horizon, they said their vows and made a lasting, loving commitment to each other.
Why Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park in Washington is one of my favorite places to shoot weddings, elopements, engagements, and more. The ancient, moss-draped forest surrounding the beach makes for a striking contrast against the couples I photograph, wild and untouched on one side, two people making a promise on the other. There is a rawness to eloping somewhere this remote that a traditional venue just cannot replicate.
The perfect waterfall wedding
Chris and Shannon got a variety of photographs at this location, and the waterfall wedding photos we captured were transcendent. There is something about moving water and golden light that turns a good elopement into an unforgettable one, the sound of it, the mist catching the last of the sun, two people completely present in the moment.
