Fifteen minutes of harsh midday sun and one seriously stunning mountain — that’s all it took to make magic with Jena and Corey.
The Mt. Rainier engagement photos featured here showcase the sweet and gentle Jena and Corey. They chose this monumental location to mark the beginning of their marriage story, drawn to the strength and longevity the great mountain represents. I only spent a quick fifteen minutes with them in the harshest of sun, but we still managed to create some magical memories — and get them comfortable in front of the camera before their big day.
Mt. Rainier is a fascinating place to photograph. Every session looks different from the last, so the location always provides something unique for each couple. Shooting Jena and Corey’s engagement photos was such a blessing — they seemed completely at home in that beautiful landscape, and the experience alone became a memory they’ll carry into their marriage.
Choosing a venue for engagement photos can be a hard call, but in my experience, nature always wins. The Pacific Northwest is timeless and awe-inspiring — two great qualities for any strong marriage, and any strong set of photos.

Yes — Mt. Rainier National Park is one of my favorite PNW locations for engagement sessions, offering dramatic mountain views in every direction.
It varies, but even a short session — like the fifteen minutes I spent with Jena and Corey — can produce beautiful, meaningful photos with the right location.
Golden hour is ideal for soft light, though as Jena and Corey’s session shows, even harsh midday sun at a stunning location can still result in gorgeous photos.
