Engagement photos are one of my favorite kinds of sessions, a chance to capture two people right before they step into the next chapter, still giddy and a little nervous about it all. Tyeisha and Adam brought that exact energy to Mt. Rainier, and it made for one gorgeous afternoon.
Mt. Rainier is Washington’s ancient, glacier-capped giant, rising nearly 14,000 feet over the Pacific Northwest, and it is one of the most stunning locations I get to shoot at. We met Tyeisha and Adam there midday in the middle of summer, which is not exactly the golden-hour dream most photographers chase. Harsh midday sun can be tricky to work with, but it also meant plenty of practice getting comfortable in front of the camera before the big day, and the mountain more than made up for the light.
You could feel it, that quiet, radiant kind of love, as a light breeze swept across the mountaintop around us. There is something about the Pacific Northwest that makes love feel even bigger, and Tyeisha and Adam’s engagement session was no exception. This is the moment of a lifetime for them, and it showed in every frame. An engagement is a symbol of dedication and commitment, and they chose to start that next chapter standing in front of one of the most ancient, dramatic landscapes Washington has to offer.
Whether you are after engagement photography, elopement packages, or full wedding photography, Mt. Rainier’s dramatic, glaciered landscape makes it one of the most captivating backdrops in the PNW for showcasing your love. The scale of the mountain has a way of making an ordinary afternoon feel monumental, and it is part of why I keep bringing couples back here session after session.
The Pacific Northwest is made for unique, timeless photos, and I would love to help you capture yours. Get in touch and let’s talk about booking your own mountain session.

Mt. Rainier National Park is one of the most stunning options in the PNW, offering dramatic mountain views and glacier backdrops within a couple hours of Seattle.
Golden hour, early morning or evening, gives the softest light, though midday sessions like Tyeisha and Adam’s can still turn out beautifully with the right approach to the harsher sun.
Yes – Mt. Rainier is a gorgeous option for elopements as well as engagement sessions and weddings.
If you are planning something similar, here is what an elopement with me includes.
