Brisbane to Byron Bay: Driving the Gold Coast, Australia
There’s a version of Australia you only see from the passenger seat with the windows down, and that’s exactly how I found the Gold Coast — one slow, scenic drive at a time.
From Brisbane Down the Coast
From Brisbane, I drove south down the Gold Coast toward Byron Bay, stopping to stay a few nights in Currumbin along the way. It’s the kind of drive where every pull-off is worth taking — long stretches of coastline, small beach towns, and views that kept making me stop the car just to look.
Photos Along the Way
What follows is the visual diary from that stretch of road — the coastline, the towns, and the little moments in between Brisbane and Byron Bay that made the drive worth every extra minute.
