Cassandra and Charlie got married at Pretty Place Chapel, tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains right along the border of North and South Carolina, and after a pandemic threw their original plans into a few rounds of rescheduling, their wedding day was every bit worth the wait.
Their wedding was all set to go when the pandemic happened, which meant a few reschedules before they finally found the time to make it happen. They kept the ceremony intentionally small and intimate, which only made the setting feel even more dramatic: Pretty Place Chapel has some of the most sweeping mountain views of any ceremony spot I have photographed. There is something about a small guest list and an enormous view that makes every vow feel even bigger.
The bride and groom got ready at a cute little lake house before the ceremony, soft morning light pouring in while nerves turned into excitement. Afterward, we headed to a family home where the reception was held, and they did a wonderful job turning the house into a wedding-ready space. The tablescapes and florals were beautiful, and the catering was, without exaggeration, delicious. Celebrating in a family home instead of a rented venue gave the whole day a warmth that is hard to manufacture; every corner felt personal.
The Blue Ridge Mountains run from southern Pennsylvania all the way down to Georgia, part of the greater Appalachian range. With sweeping views, scenic waterfalls, and spectacular hiking trails, it is easy to spend a week exploring this beautiful part of the country; there is also world-class golf and plenty of historical sites nearby. There is a reason I lived in South Carolina for so long, and a reason so many couples choose these mountains as the backdrop for their most important day.
If you are looking for a South Carolina wedding photographer, I am happy to travel far and wide to capture your special day, whether you want to stay local or travel halfway across the globe, I am your girl. Reschedules, small guest lists, big mountain views, whatever your wedding looks like, I would love to help you plan it.

Mountain ceremonies are some of my favorite days to shoot. Here is more about my wedding photography.
