Some travel days are built entirely around wildlife, and this one in Grand Cayman was exactly that — a sandbar full of stingrays in the morning, sea turtles in the afternoon, and a GoPro along for the whole ride.

About a 35-minute speedboat ride out into the sea, there’s a sandbar so shallow you can stand waist-deep in the middle of the ocean. The story goes that fishermen used to clean their catch here, and over time, the stingrays started gathering, waiting, and hanging out alongside them — which is how this spot earned its name, Stingray City.

From the stingrays, we moved on to swimming alongside sea turtles, GoPro in hand the whole time trying to capture just how close you can get.
