Starting at the Flatiron
We started these couples photos near the iconic Flatiron Building and then worked our way around the city, chasing whatever unique light, textures, and backgrounds we stumbled into along the way — brick walls, quiet side streets, the glow of storefronts as evening set in.
Letting the city do the work
That's one of my favorite things about shooting engagement sessions in a city like New York: you never have to manufacture atmosphere. It's already there in the architecture, the crowds moving past, the way the light bounces off glass and brick at golden hour. Karina and Matt leaned into it, and the result is a session that feels as alive and layered as the city itself.
