Ciarra and AJ came to me to capture their love, even though they had already said their I Dos, and honestly, that says everything about how much this couple values celebrating each other. It was a genuine pleasure to photograph their connection in a place as sacred-feeling as Joshua Tree.
Inclusive photography does not get enough discussion, and it is something I am committed to as a photographer. Ciarra and AJ were amazing to work with; being in the presence of real, genuine love makes taking pictures feel fluid and authentic in a way that is hard to describe, the kind of ease that comes through in every frame.
Ciarra and AJ felt made to be photographed here. The juxtaposition of the giant stones against the desert sky makes for incredible shots, and these two leaned into the Joshua Tree vibes with total ease. It was a pleasure to capture their relationship in such a special place; inclusive photography matters to every couple, and this session captured the love between two astounding people. The stark, wide-open desert has a way of stripping everything back to what actually matters: two people, present with each other.
Unfortunately, there are photographers out there who do not welcome inclusive photography, something this couple had experienced firsthand before finding their way to me. Inclusiveness has always been something I strive for in my business, and you can feel as confident as Ciarra and AJ did that your relationship will be captured with genuine respect and love, whether you are looking for wedding photos, an engagement session, or a full elopement package. Every couple deserves a photographer who sees them clearly and celebrates them fully.
If you want intimate moments between you and your partner captured with real inclusive care, I would love to hear from you.
Engaged, newly married, or ten years in, here is more on how I photograph weddings.

Yes, inclusive photography is a core part of my business, and I love working with couples of every kind, including Ciarra and AJ’s post-nuptial session in Joshua Tree.
A post-nuptial photoshoot captures a couple’s love and marriage after the wedding day itself, perfect if you eloped, had a small ceremony, or just want more photos than your wedding day allowed for.
Absolutely, the dramatic rock formations and wide-open desert of Joshua Tree National Park make for striking, unique couples and elopement photos.
