Fourteen miles into the silent forest
The only way to describe Redwood National Forest is breathtaking. We hiked deep into the trees, surrounded by quiet giants and curious wildlife, moving slower and slower the further in we went until the outside world felt very far away. It didn’t take long to realize the energy of this place would transcend any photograph we took — we came looking for an all-natural aesthetic and found something much bigger than that.
A coastal California bride
Bri unbraided her hair, let it fall into simple, flowing waves, and slipped into her dress right there among the trees. The towering redwoods became the only venue we needed — no draping, no décor, just old-growth giants doing what they do best. The stillness of the forest only enhanced her natural beauty, and the simplicity of it all made the setting feel exactly right, like the dress and the trees were always meant to be photographed together.

The Redwood National and State Parks are a protected stretch of ancient forest, beach, and grassland along the Northern California coast — dense, old-growth woods that feel like something out of a dream. I’ve hiked many of its trails by now, and I know the quiet corners, soft light pockets, and dramatic overlooks that make for the most romantic, otherworldly elopement photos.
