Every now and then I get to step in front of the camera instead of behind it, and this bridal editorial for Modern Trousseau was one of my favorites – a fun exercise in being on both sides of the camera.
Modeling for Modern Trousseau
I modeled a collection of gowns for Modern Trousseau, and the resulting boho-glam bridal looks were dreamy enough to catch the eye of Wedding Chicks, who featured the shoot on their site.

These images were captured by the talented Taylor Rae Photography, a fun change of pace from being the one holding the camera. It’s a good reminder that great bridal style is its own kind of art, whether I’m shooting it or wearing it.
Stepping in front of the lens also keeps me sharp as a photographer — it’s a chance to feel firsthand what it’s like to be posed, lit, and directed, which only makes me more thoughtful with my own clients. Every gown in the collection had its own personality, from airy chiffon to structured lace, and it was a joy to bring each one to life in front of the camera.
