When a couple tells you the whole reason they bought their house was the backyard, you know you’re in for a good engagement session – and this one on the Snoqualmie River did not disappoint.
Jesse and Sara recently reached out to me about photographing their engagement and wedding. They’ve been together for years and have a huge group of friends already looking forward to celebrating with them on the big day. For their engagement session, they invited me to their place in North Bend, WA – the home they told me they’d bought largely for the backyard. Standing there, right on the Snoqualmie River with gorgeous mountain views all around, I completely understood why.
Washington is an outdoor lover’s dream destination, and there are so many incredible spots to tie the knot in this state. Have you always wanted to get married on the beach? Or how about eloping on a mountaintop full of ancient evergreens and alpine lakes? Wherever your perfect spot is, I want to help bring your wedding day vision to life.
Your wedding day isn’t just about getting beautiful photos – it’s about telling the story of your love. I’m here to help make that happen for both of you.

Yes – some of the best locations are the ones that already mean something to you, like a backyard you fell in love with.
Washington has incredible range, from beach ceremonies to mountaintop elopements among alpine lakes and ancient evergreens.
If you are planning something similar, here is what an elopement with me includes.
