Charleston, SC has a way of bustling with love and excitement that is hard to put into words if you have not been. Tyler and Emily’s wedding sat right in the heart of the city, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for the two of them.
Finding the Best Photo Spots in Charleston
Right after the ceremony, we took the newlyweds on a stroll through downtown Charleston to capture a few portraits before the celebration really kicked off. After a decade of shooting weddings here, I have a running list of favorite corners, alleyways, and doorways, and we hit several of them that afternoon: wrought-iron gates, pastel row houses, quiet courtyards tucked just off the main streets. Charleston rewards photographers who know where to look, and I love getting to show that side of the city off with every couple I work with.
A Stunning Bride and Groom
It was obvious just how much Tyler and Emily loved each other. Photographing the two of them felt effortless, natural, easy, the kind of chemistry that makes for genuinely great photos. There is a difference between a couple who is posing for the camera and a couple who simply forgets it is there, and Tyler and Emily were firmly the latter.
