A Christmas in London: Street Markets, Food, and Wandering the City
My friend Ashley and I spent the holidays in London this year, and if there’s one word for the trip, it’s “walked” – we covered the city almost entirely on foot, one street market and food stall at a time.
Street markets and long lines worth waiting for
Between the two of us, we found more street markets than I can count, packed with vintage goods and food vendors selling everything from mulled wine to fresh pastries. We also made a point of trying some of London’s most talked-about restaurants – Padella and Dishoom both had lines out the door, and both were entirely worth the wait.
Eating, shopping, and wandering the city
If I’m being honest, this trip was mostly an excuse to eat a lot, shop a lot, and walk a lot – and I wouldn’t have done it any other way. London during the holidays has a particular kind of magic: string lights over market stalls, the smell of something warm on every corner, and a city that somehow feels both historic and endlessly alive.
