Olivia and Ryan have been married for almost two years now, and their way of celebrating was exactly my kind of afternoon: riding their vespa around the park, feeding the ducks, and popping a bottle of champagne.
If you ask me, that’s the perfect way to spend an anniversary. We spent the session wandering Hampton Park, chasing that easy, golden-hour light and leaning into the playful, Italian-holiday feel the two of them brought to the day – vespa included. There’s something about photographing a couple who’ve had a couple of years of marriage under their belt; the ease between them shows up in every frame.
Charleston, SC is a city full of rich history and Southern culture, and it made the perfect backdrop for this kind of celebration. With its brightly painted architecture and incredible food scene, it’s easy to see why this city is so beloved by the people who call it home. Between the historic tours downtown and the quaint beach towns lining the coast nearby, there’s truly something here for everyone – and no shortage of gorgeous spots for a portrait session.
If you’re celebrating a milestone of your own – an anniversary, an engagement, or just because – I’d love to help you mark it with photos like these.

Yes – Hampton Park’s mix of open lawns, ponds, and mature trees makes it one of Charleston’s most versatile spots for couple and anniversary portraits.
Absolutely – anniversary sessions are one of my favorite ways to celebrate a couple’s story, whether it’s been two years or twenty.
Spring and fall offer Charleston’s mildest, most golden light, though the city’s historic charm holds up beautifully in any season.
