I met Ashley and Madison after they booked me to shoot their engagement photos, and later their wedding, and their Charleston session was the perfect introduction to working together.
These two met while Madison was in dental school, and there’s something about that steady, easy history between them that came through in every frame. We started downtown, weaving through Charleston’s beautiful architecture and rich history, the kind of backdrop that makes every corner look like a postcard. Cobblestone streets, wrought-iron gates, and pastel row houses gave us endless backdrops to work with, and Madison and Ashley leaned into every one of them, laughing and stealing quiet glances between shots.
From there, we headed to Sullivan’s Island, a favorite date spot of theirs, and their two pups even came along for the ride. Sullivan’s Island is a two-and-a-half-mile barrier island near the entrance of Charleston Harbor, known for pristine beaches, nature trails, and a handful of award-winning restaurants and a local farmers market. It made for the perfect, laid-back second half to their session.
Whether it’s historic streets or a favorite beach with your dogs in tow, I love building engagement sessions around the places that actually mean something to a couple. It’s what makes the photos feel less like a shoot and more like a real day in your life together.
Whether you need engagement photos or something a little more casual, I’d love to help you plan a session like this one. Follow the link below and let’s chat.
