Our Asheville women’s retreat was five days in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it held more than trips twice its length usually do.
We hiked most mornings, then pulled over for lunch at whatever overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway looked best that day. One afternoon we sat down at the wheels in the River Arts District and threw our own bowls, which is humbling in the best way. Another morning a few of us went ziplining before breakfast. That is one way to wake up.
The night everyone still brings up was Max Patch. We packed a picnic, hiked up, and watched the whole sky go orange over the bald. Nobody wanted to leave. We collected wildflowers on the way down and cooked over the fire back at camp.
Cold beers at the downtown breweries after a long hike. Late nights around the campfire where the conversation went further than any of us planned. A group that started as strangers and did not stay that way. One of the women, a mom of two, told me the trip was the reset she did not know she needed. That is about the highest compliment this work gets.
The next one heads west. Here are the details on our Joshua Tree women’s retreat.

We based it in and around Asheville, North Carolina, with hikes along the Blue Ridge Parkway and up to Max Patch.
Hiking, a pottery session in the River Arts District, an early morning zipline, a sunset picnic at Max Patch, campfire cooking, and time at the downtown breweries.
Women who want to get outside and meet good people. Most come on their own. You do not need to be a hiker or an artist to feel at home here.
Yes. I help run and photograph small women’s retreats like this one. If you want to plan one or have me document yours, reach out any time.
Early fall is hard to beat. The light softens, the leaves start to turn, and the evenings cool off just enough to make a campfire feel good.
If you have been looking for a women’s adventure retreat, a small group trip with real people and no set agenda, or a photographer to come document one, this is the kind of thing I love being part of. Tell me what you have in mind and we will figure it out together.
