Our Iceland women’s retreat started the way the best trips do, with a plan that fell apart in the best way. On day one, half the group decided to get matching tattoos. After that, there was no such thing as strangers.
We soaked in the Blue Lagoon, stood under more waterfalls than we could count, and hiked at midnight because the sun never really left. The drives were their own event, windows down, everyone singing badly and loudly and not caring who saw. Iceland has a way of making you feel small and wide awake at the same time.
Our favorite day was the glacier lagoon. We stood there quiet for a while, watching the blue ice drift by with seals popping up between the chunks. Then the puffins showed up and quiet was over. I took a lot of photos that day and still did not catch half of it.
Childlike energy from a group of grown women who needed a break from being responsible for everyone else. Deep conversations on long drives. That specific joy of doing something a little wild with people who have your back. We carried a lot of it home.
We are going back. Here are the details on the next Iceland women’s retreat.

We road-tripped through Iceland, from the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavik out to the glacier lagoon on the southeast coast, with waterfalls and hikes in between.
The Blue Lagoon, waterfall stops, midnight sun hikes, a glacier lagoon boat day with seals and puffins, and long scenic drives together.
Women who want an adventure and good company. Most come on their own. You do not need to be an experienced traveler or hiker to fit right in.
Yes. I help run and photograph small women’s retreats like this one. If you want to plan one or have me document yours, reach out any time.
Summer, when the midnight sun stretches the days almost endlessly and you can hike at midnight in good light. It is unlike anywhere else.
If you have been looking for a women’s adventure retreat, a small group trip with real people and no set agenda, or a photographer to come document one, this is the kind of thing I love being part of. Tell me what you have in mind and we will figure it out together.
